Mid-month, after winning the bid for the In-Vessel Fast Control Power Supply procurement project under the BEST system, Actionpower has become the first successful candidate for the HL-3 system RMP Power Supply Upgrade Project. This fully demonstrates Actionpower’s technical expertise, R&D capability and market recognition in high-end fusion power supplies.

BEST Fast Control Power Supply – The Invisible Hand for China’s "Artificial Sun"

The BEST in-vessel fast control power supply is deployed on the BEST compact fusion experimental device. Its core function is to suppress rapid plasma drift and instabilities, firmly confining plasma at hundreds of millions of degrees Celsius at the center of the vacuum chamber to maintain stable nuclear fusion reactions.

The BEST compact fusion experimental device adopts a compact high-field superconducting tokamak technical route. As an upgraded successor to EAST, China’s first-generation "Artificial Sun", it aims to demonstrate fusion power generation. It shifts the focus from scientific validation to verification of engineering feasibility and economic viability, lighting the "first lamp of fusion energy"

RMP Power Supply Upgrade – Unlocking New Potential of the HL-3 Device

Tendered by Southwestern Institute of Physics, CNNC, the RMP Power Supply Upgrade Project is a key upgrade to boost the HL‑3 tokamak’s performance. The RMP power supply energizes the HL‑3 RMP coils, whose system enables flexible feedback control of varied spectra and current phases for resonant magnetic perturbation coils. It supports ELM heat flux control, suppresses resistive wall modes and other instabilities, and corrects error fields. This achieves effective divertor target heat load control during stable operation of near-reactor-core high-performance plasma.

HL‑3 (China Loop‑3) is a tokamak fusion device independently designed and constructed by Southwestern Institute of Physics, CNNC. It reaches a fusion triple product of the order of 10²⁰ and achieves "double 100‑million‑degree" plasma operation, marking China’s rapid progress toward fusion burning experiments.

Actionpower has secured consecutive fusion device core power supply contracts. Its high-voltage and pulsed power supply solutions with fusion partners are advancing steadily. These achievements confirm Actionpower’s expertise in high-end precision power supplies and its R&D & engineering capacity to back national key scientific projects through independent innovation. With technological innovation as the core driver, Actionpower will continue to specialize in fusion power supply systems and provide robust solutions for fusion energy development in China and globally.
